JoseK (not JoseQ) made a brand new translating program called Translator+ v1.0 which seems to be really useful for translating ROMs :) And it's made in Visual Basic, believe it or not. You can get it here. Thanks to Emulatronia for the news/file, and someone please translate the docs to english (I only fully understood the thanks part on which he thanks ppl such as himself and Liv Tyler).

SMS Power (aka Zoop) releases two brand new SMS ROMs: Asterix (the original one) and Basketball Nightmare (very sought-after game). Get 'em while they're hot !

Two MSX emulator-related releases: BrMSX 1.160 and NO$MSX 1.1 (which are available at the MSX Emulator Page).

HiVE has been updated to version 1.01 (thanks JoseQ). New features in this release are the usual bugfixes (heh), more multi-language versions (Portuguese and others), and the addition of Xevious (and Super Xevious too).

The source code for MAME 0.35 beta 11 is already out, and according to JoseQ some new supported games are: Prehistoric Isle, Double Dribble, Terra Force, Cabal, Insector X, and a few others. Let's wait for the binary (which will surely be posted on EmuViews, RetroGames, ZD, EmuSphere, etc).

OK, Raine 0.20 was just released, with the usual improvements and bugfixes (unfortunately there was a bug that made Insector X unplayable), and many new games are supported, such as Kaiser Knuckle, Raimais, and others... those new games can be downloaded from EmuViews and Arcade ROM Heaven.

Vertigo 2099 brings us another great ROM pack, and this time it's a bunch of previously undumped (and rare) Atari 2600 games. They're available as our Games of the Week now. Thanks a lot to everyone in Vertigo 2099 for this excellent release !
And if you don't like the Atari 2600, go to hell.

Meka, the first (and only, for now) cartridgeware emulator, has been updated to version 0.12 and that version is only available for those who registered Meka. Soon it'll be released to the 'pobs'.

Umm, more and more games keep being added to the next version of Raine... just wondering when it'll be released :) By the way, that game named Raimais seems very cool.

Diehard Atari Lynx fans were waiting anxiously for this... Handy 0.60 has been released ! Now it's faster, has lower memory requirements, and supports load/save states. Grab it NOW !

Two great emulation sites may be coming back soon: Dave's Classics (on a new server) and news-u-lator (which is already up, but not running... yet).

Not much emulator releases happened... only WinUAE 0.88 R2, PowerMSX 0.04 (which can be obtained from Emum@nia or from the MEP), and updates for the xxFAN emulators. Also, a new bleem! demo is out but I'm not into PSX emulation.

It looks like some of you really kept your fingers crossed... for those who really did, go visit Amalgam's Realm for a few teasers (if you can find them).

Some more releases came out this week, such as DBoy 0.48b, Shark 3.0d, BrSMS 1.20 (for registered users only) and 1964 which is an open source N64 emulator.
Speaking of N64 emulators, Sunset's status has gone underground and the authors claim that a new version will be out when it becomes even better than UltraHLE. And another great emulator that is slowly showing good achievements is Nemu64... visit the homepage and see the brand new screenshots (PS: a new release of Nemu64 is near).
Another release that happened isn't an emulator release, but a Master System ROM release from the guys at EmuCamp: Land of Illusion, which is the sequel to Castle of Illusion (both games starring Mickey Mouse).

This has been a really shitty week for me but... nah, forget it. I just wanna take some time to thank the people who emailed me about broken ROM links (and about other problems with 'our' ROMs). Even though I don't reply to this kind of emails, I DO read them and try to solve the problems as soon as possible. Again, thanks for the help, guys. You know who you are.

Hu6280Win 1.89 beta 11 has just been released. This one features even more ASM optimizations, which made the executable a bit smaller and made things a little faster :)

More info regarding Amalgam's Realm (courtesy of Amalgam himself): his FTP was taken down because of excessive bandwidth (and excessive RAM requirements on his system, too), BUT... Amalgam intends to reopen his site... I won't tell you when exactly for now :) Keep your fingers crossed !
And also more info regarding EmuSpain (thanks to our 'neighbor' Gerald Gorman for the email): LiM (the webmaster) is thinking about closing EmuSpain. He's tired and every day he loses a bit of interest on maintaining EmuSpain. He mentioned that he wants to make other things (don't know what). He also says, "I believe that I need to disconnect from this world for a while". Gerald told us that 'a while' means (maybe) a year. Again, keep your fingers crossed !

Some news from the arcade ROM dumping scene: NeoCharity released Breakers Revenge for Apollo69's birthday, probably :) ... and, after quite some time, the ROMList staff explained to the public why they dropped their activities. And with a reason like that, I'd do the same thing.

Midway/Atari Smash Pack ??? According to what I saw on SYS2064 Midway plans on releasing a pack with 6 old Atari arcade games (including two of my favorites, Paperboy and Marble Madness)... click here for more info.

Too many releases, very little time... MAME 0.35 beta 10 (too many betas ? I don't think so), DBOY 0.48a, Megasis 0.03 (get a VERY powerful system for this one), Hu6280Win 1.89 beta 10 (a la MAME), z26 1.26 (after 3 months of inactivity) and BrSMS 1.19.
And there's a 'new' arcade emulator out there. I said 'new' (between quotes) because this one was already known as CAGE, but was rewritten with a VERY nice speed boost (one of its main goals is to be the fastest arcade emu ever) and renamed to HIVE (High Velocity Emulator). So far, Gaplus is the only game that doesn't run w/ full speed on a 486 DX2-66 !!! Be sure to visit its homepage and download it.

I just heard about a Tamagotchi Simulator, which is something you don't see every day. And I'm sure your little brothers (or sisters, or whatever) will like this :P Thanks to EmuSphere for the link.

My knowledge of the Spanish language is pretty limited, so feel free to correct me if I post wrong news about this... err, is EmuSpain closing for real, or only LiM is taking a break ? Mail me if you have more info on EmuSpain's current situation.
And speaking of closing down, Amalgam's Realm doesn't seem to be alive anymore.

DBOY 0.48 released and I still don't know exactly what's new :) Heh... and there's a new homebrewn GBC ROM (by quang) called Jet Pak (it's still in development, version 0.05 beta made it to the public) which you can play on DBOY, and any other GameBoy Color emus. Another 'new' SMS ROM was released by Zoop to the public, and it's Phantasy Star (Japanese) with FM chip support. Be sure to enable FM emulation on Meka (or on other SMS emus) to listen to the 'correct' music. BTW that ROM is available at the Meka homepage.

A brand new ROM was just released by Zoop at EmuCamp: Alex Kidd BMX Trial, which is an ultra rare game and this one needs paddle emulation (only achieved on MEKA).

World's most popular SMS emulator gets an update... MEKA 0.11 was just released and here's what's new:

New Hu6280 for Windows available... beta 9 fixes a few bugs and now a few more games run correctly. Thanks to jamsponge for the news.

I removed a few sub-sections from our ROMs page since they were incomplete. I also removed the thanks lists from the ROMs pages because we were forgetting to thank too many people. We're still thankful to all those who helped us, though (you know who you are). I hope you all understand what I did, and don't call me greedy, or stupid, or something like that.

Attention: there's a lethal bug in the soundcard checking routines of RockNES 0.80 which can do serious damage to your hard disk. So, if you got RockNES 0.80 yesterday, be sure to download RockNES 0.81 which is supposed to fix that problem.

Moonrise, a multi-system emulator which will emulate the NES, N64 and PSX, will also emulate the GameBoy ! This was just announced on Dave's Classics (which isn't down anymore).

Fx3 just released RockNES 0.80 !!! There are shitloads of new fixes and additions in the readme, so I suggest you go download this new RockNES now because I'm too lazy to post what's new ;)

Well, the wait is over... this isn't the final product yet, but seems very good already. Err, I'm talking about Zoop's SMS emulator: MEKA !!!

And Battle Flipshot just became this week's Game of the Week !

NeoCharity has just released the sound fixed ROMs for Operation Ragnagard, and they also released a brand new NeoGeo title called Battle Flipshot. Also, a new NeoMAME supporting this new game is available at RetroGames.

NO$MSX 1.0 has just been released... this emu doesn't do much yet but its CPU emulation is pretty fast and stable. Also the MSX IO-Ports specifications are available at the NO$MSX homepage.

According to the RockNES homepage, RockNES 0.80 may be released this weekend, along with an updated compatibility list.
