  • where do you want to go today ? here are some interesting places...
    - the games nostalgia... which intends on remaking older games, and making sequels (!) to other older games. i'd love to see those guys re-touching rally-x. or moon patrol. or both :)
    - this page at borland, where you can download borland c++ 5.5. for free, after signing up to the borland community (that won't cost you anything).
    - this funny pic, which rde warned me about... before it was posted at retrogames :P ah, and bsod stands for "blue screen of death" aka "tela azul".
    - both amiga mania and amiga emulation zone. you'll discover why.
    - the sardius experience, because the nes still rules and there's some interesting old new stuff there, such as smb2j.nes... (which runs on both nesten and rocknes, according to nestoy author digitoxin)

  • and... a few quick misc. emulator updates... a-saturn .15, fellow .35 (whew !!!), hu-go! 1.10 (source code also), generator32 (ported by atani), a few emudx32 betas (whew !!! again), winboycott .61b and exboy. the last emu mentioned is based on hash's sourcecode, according to what i've seen around.

  • nes emulation is also kickin' serious butt, as always. don't forget to check out: sadnes32 .11 beta 5, nesten .36 beta cataclysm, nes9x 1.0b and rocknes 1.0 (graduation release ?). btw, rocknes is being ported to win32 !

  • msx emulator authors were quite active this week. javamsx, brmsx and woom! were updated. more info (and more) on these 3 updates can be obtained at the m.e.p.. the source code of this new brmsx release is also out.

  • hi there. some shout outs to some ppl can be seen below...
    - prophet: welcome back and i hope you enjoy your "stay". (heh)
    - toxiccreep (his site is down, btw): thanks a lot for the email you sent me... that was pretty unexpected :) and i hope your site, as well as the whole emuchrist network, returns as soon as possible. and i'm sorry i haven't read your message earlier, that's because that hotmail account is no longer being used that often.
(new email address(es) available at the about section)

  • quick emulator updates/releases: dboy .56 / galemu .40.9 / pretendo .06 (wip mode) / vgb 1.6.1 (macintosh only) / nlmsx .21 / yet another nesten beta (i almost guessed the beta name right earlier) / and zsnes .989.

  • 100 levels and not only 75 (heh). demolition is kinda addicted to that game. i haven't played it yet.

  • nice news for everyone: both emudx and raine were not discontinued ! emudx's sources weren't really lost (even more champagne), and raine is only on hold (antiriad deserves some vacations).

  • bad news for almost everyone: charles schultz died today (more details here). i hope s.o.d. doesn't come with something like "ballad of c. schultz" in their next album... because peanuts r0x j00 s0x.

  • . fri 11 feb 2000 .

  • emudx's source has been put to rest by a hard drive crash, unfortunately. very bad news... :(

  • until yesterday's release (castlevania), i thought that at least someone at genesis power was being severely 0wned by mickey mouse.

  • if you ever need a lawyer, please take note of the names of sony's lawyers... and try not to hire any of them because they probably suck... sony always loses. (hooray ! where's the damn champagne ?)

  • another usual update at badge's lighthouse happened. if you visit this site often you know what i'm talking about.

  • ztnet just can't get worse... damn, the access to some of its sites seemed ok this tuesday... now today emucamp's screwed up again. no, i don't wonder what's happening. i got the flu... and i have lots of leeching to do.
and i just read about a new article over at archaic ruins which talks about the parodius-ztnet conflict.

  • . mon 07 feb 2000 .

  • browsing thru the nesdev website i found this cool site called video game jam which features guitar and bass tabs for some video game music. i know a few beginner guitar players who'll surely love that one :)

  • another year of studying begins today. yuck.

  • . sun 06 feb 2000 .

  • as you probably noticed i reposted the atari2600 724-roms pack which seventh gave me some time ago. the link to it is a bit below today's news posts. sky patrol and garfield are both available at the classic gaming expo website.

  • new arcade dumps ? is that what you seek ? then go visit team japump, or arcade rom heaven, or world of arcades... thanks to a bunch of sites for the links.

  • yet another nesten beta is out :) apocalypse beta... heh... the next one will probably be the behemoth beta, or the belzebu beta... anything beginning with "b".
(news tidbit seen earlier at kinox !)

  • i re-added a links page on this site. it's more dynamic, and will no longer only depend on the site staff to receive updates. i hope to pay enough attention when someone submits links to that page :)

  • those problems with emulationworld affected even this site, because of the 2 newsboxes which were at the bottom of this page. i temporarily removed them. thanks to zero_hour for the warning.

  • genesis power released castle of illusion, which is another redump and another mickey mouse title at the same time.

  • >> el romz... atari2600 pack w/ 724 roms

    . sat 05 feb 2000 .

  • demolition enjoyed seeing that fusion 2.0 is out ! please remember that it's a commercial emulator... but many people think it's worth the money :) thanks to mgandhi for the news.

  • i'm waiting for emulationworld to "return" (heh) just to see if fx3 posted, or will post something about the hidden game he found on mk3.nes (or .nez ?).

  • after seeing a photo of tiger woods messing with some snes emulator (or a nes emulator, or maybe it's that shitty small smb game made for the pc (its author is still unknown to me)), i think someone'll send the idsa after him. or maybe he'll be sued by nintendo. or maybe he'll send a thankyou card to the (what's that emulator?) team. or maybe he'll email me begging for r0mz.

  • pasofami 1.3n is out and the new features are probably a bunch of not yet translated hiragana/katakana/kanji. still great news :)
(news tidbit seen earlier at vgn !)

  • the mame team is one of the only ones who don't need to bring any type of birthday cake (hi delta)... happy birthday mame ! and keep being the greatest documentation of arcade games available :)
(this was previously brought to you by sys2064 !)

  • hu6280 was updated again. jamanoid is now part of the emulator's code (sms-like... eheh) and cd-rom support was added as well. great !!!
(i kinda copied and pasted this after seeing it at kinox !)

  • there's some kind of improvement on the java msx emulator available both at the msx emulation page or at this website i haven't visited yet (i am sorry).

  • all of you probably already know about the "hack" (it's not a hack, damn it ! but some ppl still think it is) on emulationworld/ztnet... oh well, i have nothing to do with this. you may wanna check out emuforce for some kind of official explanation of what happened.

  • . thu 03 feb 2000 .

  • genesis power released a game called bible adventures. judging by its title, i wonder if it's as cool as spiritual warfare ?

  • heh, mame has been updated yet again, but it's still in the 0.36 cycle...
(news shamelessly and directly copied from retrogames !)

  • you probably already heard about emuschool... but if you don't know about this yet, please notice that its url changed to emuschool.vintagegaming.com

  • towards a better pac-man: the home for a nice pac-man hack for the atari2600... that hack looks (and sounds) a bit more like the original arcade pac-man. how many times did i write pac-man ?
(i stole this piece of news from vgn !)

  • . wed 02 feb 2000 .

  • i just saw two gbc-related sites which i think are interesting... gameboy br world, which contains several sections and even some roms... and pr translations which is one of the groups trying to translate pokémon gold to english, and the translation status is very advanced already.
*update* doh, i forgot to mention that gameboy br world is entirely in portuguese. babelfish is needed, if you not speaka portugues.

  • famtasia 5.1b2 is out, but where's the official site and wtf is new anyway ???
(news tidbit seen earlier at emucamp !)

  • . tue 01 feb 2000 .

  • badge's lighthouse has been updated again and i think you should subscribe to his mailing list if you're reading this right now. the reward is better than the action itself... you'll see.

  • earlier, some pages hosted by emulationworld and using frames (such as emucamp and sys2064) were acting weird on (at least my) netscape... not displaying all the frames, only one of them. those pages are ok now i guess.

  • there's a lot of new gb/gbc demos at subport... go leech if you're interested or curious.

  • this looks cool... a new (?) pacman emulator that plays with different maps... and now even a map editor is out, which means you can customize your pacman game... making it easier or more difficult... or completely weird.
(news shamelessly and directly copied from sys2064 !)

  • heh... i just read even more things about rape (the emulator !) and it looks like nintendo wants the author(s) to rename rape to something else. i'd suggest nirrs (nintendo is really really ... the rest you can guess).

  • i think i'm back... i also think you noticed a few changes here and there... the small design changes, for example. and some sections were removed as well, including the links section which was way too outdated (i intend on making something more dynamic), and the wanted stuff section for the same reason (although i still want things such as car builder for the apple2), and also the roms area... because our little webspace was put to sleep forever (thanks malzinhow... yet again, we tried... and i'm waiting for gamescave to return).
i know i wasn't missed... but i'm back anyway. with less dedication, even less motivation, but still trying to make a difference... a task that gets harder and harder every day.

  • i killed a few gifs from the main page... but kenny wouldn't die. about the logos... i didn't even try making new ones... sorry, there'll be only 2 for now.
