  • Just saw on ZD that z26 has been updated.

  • Remember Callus, that old but excellent CPS1 emulator which you only restarted using because of SF Zero ? Well, there are other games playable on Callus... most of them available here. Thanks to RS for the link.

  • MSX fans will remember the classic game Abadia del Crimen. But some of you (this includes me) may not know that it was also ported to the PC (although it looks crappy)... well, it's available here and since it's a Xoom server, you better grab it before it vanishes... thanks to Daniel Caetano for the news.

  • All our HTML moved to another server (no more Tripod). If you did use the Tripod URL to reach this site we recommend that you start using end.tsx.org as soon as possible. (update: the one who gave me this small but reliable webspace was demolition)

  • CBT released a 100% english-portuguese translation patch for Alex Kidd in Miracle World (SMS).

  • And I thought that RetroGames' countdown was about how many days were left to the end of this month... :P anyway, happy birthday Atila... and also a late happy birthday to AraCorn of ROMList.

  • (another sample of stupidity from me) I simply don't know why I stopped visiting both Gray Area & Red Area. Maybe it was because I lost my bookmark.htm in the past...

  • Phew, Zoop didn't quit again. A proof of this can be seen at Sega Power :)

  • Don't call me stupid just because I didn't mention Camelot Web earlier. Great spanish site indeed :)

  • *sigh* Zoop received an extremely stupid email from this stupid fella (which needs some mailbombing right away), and later on Zoop quoted, "That's the best he could do to make me drop emulation."
    I'm worried, and I only hope Zoop doesn't quit emulation AGAIN.

  • RockNES 0.94 crashed on you ? Try RockNES 0.94a.

  • Sorry, but I have NO WAY to accept any more rom requests. I have almost nowhere to upload anything right now.

  • "Old games don't suck, Retro-FX is cool"
    (This was just an adaptation I made to the lyrics of a song I like... just to announce Retro-FX which is a must-see for the Dreamcast challenged ppl like me. Thanks to Salim Mutchib...err... {ZeroAge} for the news.)

  • (this was just announced) dps's SNES Release List has been updated, 26 new roms were added... you can get it here.

  • RockNES 0.94 is out... here's what's new:
    - Added NES movies support;
    - Added joystick calibration (to get things working properly);
    - Mapper #70 fixed (still bug yet, but Arkanoid 2 is playable);
    - The bug that hangs RockNES if the soundcard wasn't initialized had been returned on 0.9x versions. Fixed;
    - Fixed VS loading for games with no CHR pages;
    - Fixed VS games palettes (oops!);
    - Fixed messages colors using others palettes;
    - Added pAPU status register on $4015 reads;
    - Minor fix for waveforms amplitude;
    - Changed way to set joypad1 data (seems more accurate);
    - Little help was displaying VGA as default video mode (it's AUTO), fixed;
    - Removed SDD EAGLE warnings.

  • Fans of the classic game Metal Gear should visit this site RIGHT NOW.

  • Umm, I wanna warn you that Jagulator isn't the only Jaguar emu under development right now ;)

  • And thanks again to squeegee (of EmuCamp I'm posting another interesting article about old games being ported to newer systems, this time it's Q-Bert which will be re-released on the PSX !

  • I don't usually post about translations, but I think many ppl were expecting a 100% translation patch for Seiken Densetsu 3 so there it is !!!

  • *** SMS Power is now known as Sega Power (Snorter joined the team and made the 1st Genesis release at that site).

  • Bored ? Try this for relax... thanx rob.

  • Just saw this on EmuCamp... a 3D version of Pong is gonna show up on the PSX (and also on bleem, PSEmu, etc. :P), click here for more info and some screenshots.

  • SNEeSe 0.33 already ! New in this release are some more sound improvements and the usual bugfixes. If you see a SNEeSe update tomorrow (or even today), don't be surprised, the author seems really motivated :)

  • bleem 1.4 is out, I hope you got the cd-key...

  • I've checked out two new brazilian rom sites which I recommend you: NeoBreak (as you probably guessed, it's about NeoGeo roms !) and The Brazilian ROM Download (which features lots of roms for lots of systems). Enjoy !
    I also have for you a non-brazilian site which is The NES Dumping Project. You probably noticed that it's about new NES dumps, and if you check that site out you'll find more than just some roms :)

  • Some new emulator releases for you, quick: SNES9XWin 1.20 (3DFX and non-3DFX versions), SNEeSe 0.32 and BrMSX 2.00 (which official page seems to be down, go get it at Zophar's Domain).

  • Snorter dumped 2 new 32X games, go check it out ! And speaking of new dumps... go check out some new arcade rom dumps at J-ROM.

  • Weekly ROMs updated, this week giving more attention to some SuperFX stuff.

  • Another great emulator which was updated is MSKISS. A few VDP operations were implemented and fixed... err... well, biggest news is that SD Snatcher (fantastic game !) is 100% emulated.

  • FCE Ultra 0.15 has been released. This new version features sound improvements, many bugfixes, and added some new mappers. And... Hu-Go was also updated... TG16 CD emulation is being added slowly :)

  • Apart from SMS Power's releases (omg I need to update my mirror), there hasn't been much going on in the scene. I'd like to take this opportunity to wish a happy birthday to... me. And thanks for all the messages/emails/icq greetings/etc. that I've received so far, I really appreciate them !

  • RockNES 0.93 is out ! I'm trying to download it right now so I can tell you what's new. (update: this is more like a bugfix version... much better and more stable for me at least)

  • (ouch, my ears) SMS Power released two new SMS games and since they've been kicked out of their server, you MUST download from their mirrors.

    Sunday, July 18, 1999

  • Today surely is a great day for emulation... Spec256 1.08 beta is out and it also supports Phantis (which is included in the package).

  • MAME 0.36 beta 1 BINARY has just been posted at EmuViews !!!

  • (revenge) This year it's BRAZIL who beats Uruguay in Copa America !!!

  • Shark 0.31 has also been released... with some bugfixes and support for a new game (Demon's World).

  • The source for MAME 0.36 beta 1 has also been released !!!! Amongst the new games is PIT FIGHTER (yeah, finally, unfortunately The Simpsons isn't emulated yet)... and the source's available at Dave's Classics. (I'll update again when the binary is released)

  • ZSNES 0.940 is out !!! Here's the whatsnew.txt so you can read what's new, since I'm too lazy to post.

  • Heh, another day, another release from SMS Power: Solomon Key... and now I guess you MUST download from the mirrors because Speedhost just kicked SMS Power :(

  • Hmm, I didn't post about 2 new sites that opened recently. One is Medical Emulation which features emulators and some roms for older systems. The other is StormCade which is a brand new (?) emulation news site. (is it related to StormWorld aka RetroWorld ???)

  • Very weird update at the PSEmu website...

  • MABOL (silly name indeed :P) is now open to the public. It's a message board which is gonna be shared between some of our affiliated sites (which you can check out on our Links Section).

    Saturday, July 17, 1999

  • RockNES 0.92 is out ! What's new ? Well, mainly the usual bugfixes, addition of more mappers, and EAGLE effects !

  • Weekly ROMs updated... this time I only bring a few NES and Genesis titles.

  • Spec256 IS OUT !!! Version 1.04 beta has been released and it comes with the classic JetPack. The final version will come with even more games... and if you're still reading this I think you didn't check out that magic emulator (which lets you play ye olde Speccy games in 256 colors).

  • Hmm, SNK gave some anime fans group permission to use their romsets on NeoRAGEx (well, there were at least 2 computers running NeoRAGEx on that anime convention and SNK wasn't complaining at all). This means that SNK doesn't think emulators are illegal (unlike the airheads at Nintendo) AND I guess they'll try earning some profit with emulators (no, Marat doesn't work for SNK).

  • More NeoGeo romsets are being redumped in MVS format... this time NeoLight redumped Fatal Fury.

  • Two new releases, and two new mirrors. Yes, I'm talking about SMS Power once again.

  • If I'm not mistaken, RockNES is gonna be the first NES emulator to use the EAGLE engine (I hope I'm right about this).

  • I'm a bit lost, and I don't know the latest version of SNEeSe... but this SNES emulator is surely being updated quite often :)

  • Interviews galore at brazilian sites... Kinox and Taxol (note the new URL) (and if you know any other brazilian sites with decent interviews, gimme the link)

  • Once again I suggest that, instead of downloading new SMS releases directly from SMS Power, download those releases from one of their mirrors, or else SMS Power's server will probably kick 'em out.

    Thursday, July 15, 1999

  • Another release from SMS Power, this time it's Danan the Jungle Fighter. My mirror has been updated as well, and if you can please download from there, or from the other mirrors.

  • Hmm... Emulatronia has been posting interesting stuff lately... such as those ZSNES & Spec256 screenshots ;)

  • Aerial Assault is the latest SMS release from SMS Power... and I already uploaded it to my mirror. I also had to re-upload Woody Pop due to CRC errors.

  • CPS Patch Center has been opened, bringing you those great SFZero (CH) patches for you to use. Curious fact: that site's composed by one guy from Brazil, and by another guy from Uruguay. Heh... and Brazil x Uruguay is gonna be the Copa America Final :)

  • Vertigo 2099 also released something today (their NES pack #62). I'll mirror it here as soon as I can. (update: here's the file)(update of the update: I just re-uploaded a file WITHOUT ANY CRC ERRORS, you can re-download it if you want plz, thankyou Arakno)

  • Today's SMS Power release is Champions of Europe... which is a shitty soccer game but had to be dumped anyway :/

    Tuesday, July 13, 1999

  • This is surely interesting... (ps: a binary's available for download at UNAE)

  • Today's SMS Power release is Makai Retsuden (also available on my mirror)... but today's most interesting release for me is called California and no, it's not a SMS game :)

    Sunday, July 11, 1999

  • RetroGames just announced a cool page with cheats for SF Zero (CPS Changer version). The page is located here.

  • SMS Power just released Alien 3 for the SMS... and somehow I managed to update the el cheapo mirror too.

  • I'm amazed... only NES World could show us a thing like this... I hope someone with a good NES copier puts his/her hands on that cartridge soon :)

  • The Genesis Game Guide has been updated to version 2.02, and since Eidolon's Inn is moving (therefore, no updates), you can download it from EmuCamp.

  • The great SFZero patch for Callus has been updated YET AGAIN (this is patch #7) and now you can play it 100% with a keyboard (all buttons were correctly mapped). Thanks to MGandhi for the news.

  • A few changes were made to the Links section.

  • Whew, I'm finally done with this cheap SMS Power ROMs Mirror ! (bear in mind that I couldn't do better than that)

    Saturday, July 10, 1999

  • dps released a SNES ROMs Release List (not a compatibility list), which lists more than 3000 ROMs/demos and includes all the checksums for the listed ROMs. Since he authorized anybody to post this on their sites... you can get it from here.

  • Weekly ROMs changed.

  • SMS Power broke their 'promise' of releasing one new title per day... today they released TWO new titles: Ecco the Dolphin (SMS) and Ecco: Tides of Time (GameGear).

  • (this was nictuku's idea, and) We changed our counter... TheCounter is better than LinkExchange, at least in my oppinion.

  • Kinox is another rare emulation site which features LOTS of news... and some other interesting things :)
    Other rare sites are Taxol, CBT, BurnSpeed, Dump Masters, EmuCity, these are a few I can remember.

  • GameGenie time on DGen 1.16 !

  • SMB Remix is a very interesting SMB1 hack... which features MANY changes to the original SMB1 (and renders the game much more difficult than it is).

  • THIS IS NO FAKE !!! SuperFX emulation on the next ZSNES will surely improve !

  • SMS Power today released Ninja Gaiden for the SMS. It's a classic game which at least 99% of you know about, and if it's the same game as the GameGear version, it's a winner ! Too bad I (as usual) can't download anything from Speedhost.

    Friday, July 9, 1999

  • I just made a few small design changes here and there, and declared myself the only maintainer of this news page... no more icons, kthxbye.

  • DO bookmark the new location of SiTC !

  • SMS Power released TazMania for the SMS... and according to Zoop it's a very poor game, so poor that it looks like a NES game (this wasn't a wise comparison).

    Thursday, July 8, 1999

  • "How to make a REAL easter egg"... this is MickoZ's recipe :P

  • There... it's done... the english version of Taxol ROM Hacking for all you who don't understand portuguese.

  • "This might be the last bug fix version unless something major comes up."
    (yes, it's ZSNES 0.915 !)

  • NO$GMB, the only 'no-cash' emulator which costs a few bucks, has been updated to version 2.2. There's also a 485-optimized version, and as always, the shareware version is a bit limited (yeah, that 'try before you buy' thingy).

  • SYS2064 just opened a great section with FAQs for NeoGeo games... if you weren't finding a FAQ about that game you love, or if you're confused with too many sites offering game FAQs, now you know where to go when you need one.

  • To prove that SMS Power isn't a SMS-only site, they released a new SG-1000 game today: Drol (AppleII fans will recognize this one again).

    Wednesday, July 7, 1999

  • ZSNES 0.910 has just been released. This version doesn't feature much new stuff, only some bugfixes. You can also try downloading it at the official ZSNES mirror site. Thanks to BobaFett for the news.

  • To all you brazilian rom hackers (and wannabes) out there: Taxol ROM Hacking has LOTS of documents, utilities and tips for all your rom hacking needs ! An english version is on the way... I think they're hacking the page and translating it to english using some hex editor :)

  • SMS Power just released Summer Games for the SMS and yes, it's a remake of that Apple II classic... and according to what someone posted on EmuCamp's msgboard, there's also Winter Games (I hope this one gets released too).

  • Raster effects are the greatest news on DGen 1.15... which makes a few games even better on DGen :)
    And if you wanna play International SuperStar Soccer Deluxe on Genesis emulators, Megasis 0.4 is the only one that (veeeery slowly) handles it (with some glitches here and there, but at least it's playable).

    Tuesday, July 6, 1999

  • And today's most important news: the 'Page Info' and 'Site Staff' sections have been merged into a new section called About END. Our staff is probably musically incorrect, but who cares anyway :)

  • Remember that SFZCH Callus Patcher ? It's been updated :)

  • Thank you Nintendo, now all SNES-related documents (SNES Chart and the S3) written by The Scribe are DEAD.

  • (as always, better late than never) Yesterday something important happened... (Sega emulation fans out there, rejoice) it was the 2nd anniversary of Eidolon's Inn !!! Speaking of that great site, it's gonna move someday to eidolon.psp.net.

  • Is this gonna show up on the next Guinness book ?

  • DGen 1.14 is out... great thing now is that it has SRAM support, along with some bugfixes and the update of the StarScream core used in DGen.

  • Guess what... (try looking at the link, heh)

  • The official US fwNES mirror site moved. Bookmark the new location !

  • JetPak DX final release is out ! Go check out Quang's effort on coding a GBC game... it's a remake of the Speccy classic JetPak, as you noticed.

  • Check this one out if you wanna play SF Zero (CPS Changer version... err, the CPS Changer is some kind of a home version of the CPS1, not an actual arcade machine) on Callus. I have only two words to say about that: IT WORKS... even with some gfx glitches and only one kick button (medium kick == F3).

  • These are the things fixed on MAME 0.35 final fix: - btimem and caractn
    - missile command with 256x224_hor = no
    - scanlines not being used when 400x300 VESA mode available
    - sfzch buttons
    - ringking color PROMs
    I hope you all can understand this :) And for those who downloaded SFZMAME, you can delete it now, I guess.

    Monday, July 5, 1999

  • Another thing you'll enjoy is ZSNES 0.900 which has just been released !!! (and I'm not posting the whatsnew.txt, it's huge... go see it for yourself)

  • OK, Street Fighter Zero (CPS1) has been added to the (weekly) ROMs Section. Enjoy ! (ah, and the controls are a bit weird... buttons 1,2 and 3 are punch buttons, but there's only 1 kick which is the COIN 1 (!) button... and a pause button (coin 2 or coin 3))

    Sunday, July 4, 1999

  • A romset called SFZCH.ZIP (yes, it's Street Fighter Zero, and believe me or not that one is a CPS1 version of that game) is already doing the rounds, and it's supported on MAME 0.35 final. I'm getting it VERY SLOWLY (you can try getting it from Emulition) now, and I intend on sharing that one with our visitors, so I guess you'll have to wait... (patience is golden)

  • ROMList has returned... and a new release called P47 Aces is already waiting for you. Before you ask, that new romset isn't emulated yet.

  • FINALLY !!!

  • Some days ago we posted Virtua Racing for the Genesis (thanks to X_X_X)... and now NAZ dumped and released the same game for the arcade (it's a Sega Model 1 board, which is still unemulated). You can get it at his webpage.

  • And, as you can see, the Games of the Week quite changed a bit...

  • I finally took some time to update the Links Section. Some links were removed, some were updated, and only a few were added.

  • xNES 0.51 was re-released... oh wait... no, it was intentionally put online by Fx3 to celebrate the 1st birthday of RockNES which happened on 06/29/99 :)

  • Talking about JustForFun 0.23, are there any additional features ? (besides the 3 new games which were added... for those romsets try visiting Emulatronia... thankyou Till)

    Saturday, July 3, 1999

  • (these were supposed to be out on 06/20, but...) Both G3 and the Genesis Chart were updated by The Scribe... and they're available at Eidolon's Inn.

  • I expect the release of this emulator as much as I expect the release of Jagulator, and MekaDrive (and CPSxTREME, too).

  • SPCAMP, that utility that lets you play .SPC files using WinAMP (for those who still never heard of it), was updated to version 0.500. But what's new ??? Try to figure that out yourself (sorry but I couldn't).

  • Now Mac users will also have a chance of playing some N64 games on their Macs... just by using TrueReality which MacOS port was just released ! (It already plays some commercial games)

  • MekaDrive is no rumor... but it's not Zoop who's programming that emu (it's Charles MacDonald, and if I'm not mistaken, Zoop is only working on the GUI).
    Another thing which is no longer a rumor is that Raine's gonna have a Win32 port.

  • END presents: The Good, The Bad and The 50-50 (part 1).
    - The Good: the return of EmuCamp's news section (featuring new maintainers), and another return... nEMU.
    - The Bad: due to several reasons, unfortunately the BurnSpeed staff intend on quitting. That's bad because BurnSpeed was a good brazilian (I mean, RARE) emulation site.
    - The 50-50: Heather Blake.

  • If you think that this SMS ROM releasing thingy is gonna stop, think twice.

  • Excuse me. The news below were gonna be posted earlier, but (Houston) we had a 'little' problem. It looks like (heh) end-br.org collapsed, and this site almost died for good. Well, sometimes it's a pain in the nutsaq to update this page pretty often and this makes me wanna quit but... I still have some will to update (without knowing where that will comes from) and I'll keep END alive. Unfortunately, Tripod has that nasty popup window but... it's better than nothing. And if you're smart enough, you'll notice that the whole ROMs section is down, for an obvious reason.
    JoseCerv... THANK YOU ! Without your help I'd shutdown END for good.

  • MEKA 0.20 is ready to the public... and it has tons of bugfixes/improvements (too many to list). And there are two new titles at SMS Power for you to play with the new MEKA.

  • Emum@nia got a brand new design...
