Monday - 31/07/2000

  • ...and a happy birthday to our founder demolition !

  • Go leech KI, go. That game fucking sucks.

  • Genesis Power just released James Pond 2, probably the nicer game of the series.
Update: I believe I'll start doing those "Genesis Power updates" on a weekly basis. You're surely getting tired of reading these things every single day on every single webcopynews site... they're almost all the same, aren't they ?
  • Sunday - 30/07/2000

  • SMS Power released the GameGear version of Tintin in Tibet.

  • Bass Masters Classic Pro Edition has nothing to do with musical instruments.

  • Some hard-to-find C64 stuff was added to Lemon... Pole Position rules !
    Thank you, irish man.
  • Saturday - 29/07/2000

  • ROMNet is an interesting... umm... leeching tool :P Useful for all regular visitors of the G1Mm3 R0mZ page.

  • END's "Band of the Moment" is now G/Z/R. A comment I just read about their album called "Plastic Planet" is...
"I knew that this band was essentially a side project by Geezer Butler (the bass player from Black Sabbath, oh ye unenlightened one) -- what I *didn't* know is that Fear Factory's Burton C. Bell does the vocals! As a result, this album sounds like Fear Factory on steroids. :-) Brutal, THICK metal here (especially on "Drive Boy Shooting")...does kinda get boring towards the end, though."

  • The last ROTF added at CherryRoms is a NES rom, for trilogy completion purposes.

  • Zool was just re-released you know where. The Amiga version is better, though. Speaking of Amiga, 6 games were added to AEZ and even more Assassins were added to ALE.
  • Friday - 28/07/2000

  • The only nice things I saw at Fenasoft this year were the women... nothing else. My head's killing me.
GENS was updated again (I didn't expect that, but it was a good surprise) and now it runs SSF2 which I didn't leech yet (damn MP3s (no, I don't even use Napster))... speaking of SSF2, a much worse fighting game called World Heroes (as if that game was unknown) is out somewhere else.
  • Thursday - 27/07/2000

  • Genesis release of the day: Universal Soldier. That game sucked as far as I can remember it.

  • Some Assassins are still missing in action, but anyway ALE was updated with some demos.

  • 85 Electron games added to the Stairway to Hell.

  • Ah, the renovation... a must-visit for Speccy fans ;)

  • The word of the day seems to be CPS2...
  • Wednesday - 26/07/2000

  • Operation Wolf was released today at SMS Power !

  • Super Street Fighter 2 again at Genesis Power, but this time it's the japanese version... for those who start scratching themselves all over when they find out they don't have every single Genesis rom available.

  • Long live groups with japanese names... especially when they're into coding ;)
Thanks to mannn for the previously unknown GameBoy emulator which seems to be sleeping, and anyway the executable didn't want to install on my PC :/ Still dunno why...

  • Magicard, that Atari2600 programming tool released a few days ago at Atari2600 Nexus, now works in z26 !

  • Bring on the sniper rifles... 40 more Assassins unleashed ! (at ALE, of course)
  • Tuesday - 25/07/2000

  • Sega Xtreme added 2 SegaCD games... Robo Aleste and Eye of the Beholder.

  • A lot of SNES roms were added to Lord Dredd's in the last few days... and much less SNES roms added to TopSNES.

  • 3 new Atari7800 roms were released at EmuViews.
    Thanks, P-Strife.

  • Kaiju Monogatari (version 1.1) is the new ROTF over at CherryRoms since yesterday.

  • Two Crude Dudes, a funny beat 'em up, was just re-released by Genesis Power.
  • Monday - 24/07/2000

  • The main source of inspiration for the G1Mm3 R0mZ odyssey is actually this old site called ROMNEWS, which is dead since quite some time, unfortunately. Something I didn't realize, since this site is on a really old bookmark file, is that ROMNEWS was still alive last year !

  • Birthday's over, I'm older...
Genesis Power released Sylvester And Tweety In Cagey Capers, aka "grumpy cat that won't catch that yellow bird"...
  • Sunday - 23/07/2000

  • 30 other ADF files were added to the ALE... 30 files, 91 games.

  • 27 SNES roms added to NEStalgia's archive.

  • Enhanced versions of some Konami MSX games are available at the MEP... since they're Konami games, expect two fundamental things: quality and fun !

  • 150 Acorn Electron games added to the Stairway to Hell.
    Thanks again, Opi.

  • 29 new games... what a nice Lemonade !
Thanks to Dave Ewing for the lemons.

  • Even though I don't enjoy RPGs that much, the Genesis Power staff gave me Sword of Vermilion as their birthday gift.

  • Yet another birthday this month, and this time it's my turn to wish a happy birthday to... myself ?
  • Saturday - 22/07/2000

  • I think I still have japanese-speaking visitors and this message is for them... if you haven't visited Emulation 9 yet, go there now !

  • Wow, 5 new GBC releases lately including Survival Kids 2... (thanks SubPort)

  • Discovering new links... (thanks to Opi for both) The X68000 Game Pile, recently updated with 3 X68K games, and Sega Xtreme, a SegaCD/Saturn ISOs site that also features a few 32X roms.

  • I finally could check my email... and read that Malc Jennings is no longer ill and he added 30 new ADF files to ALE !

  • That blues bar I mentioned earlier is only fun when you get in there for free, instead it sucks. BTW, a programming tool for the Atari2600 called Magicard was posted at the usual place for new Atari2600 releases.

  • Go fish somewhere else, go.
  • Friday - 21/07/2000

  • Someone recently tried to shut this site down. Go shut down this one instead.

  • Quoting Nixon66 (of J.A.P.A.N.), A FDS Zelda 2 invincability hack was posted there... yesterday. But yesterday I was away having fun at a blues bar.

  • Birthday party's over, but... Genesis Power is still alive :) And today they released a good, complete dump of Super Street Fighter II: The New Challengers !

  • Badge's Lighthouse updated... with 8 new SNES reviews including european versions of Yoshi's Safari and ActRaiser, and also updated with another PC98 game called Hustler 2055. Be sure to subscribe to his mailing list.
  • Thursday - 20/07/2000

  • A happy birthday to Genesis Power ! But the birthday gifts are ours... and there'll be 12 of those today.
  • Wednesday - 19/07/2000

  • Think I reported about Triple Play Gold a little bit too late, eh ? Okay. Zoom is now the newest release at Genesis Power.

  • Open source is the way to go.

  • Sequel time... Triple Play Gold is today's special at Genesis Power.

  • *** Digital Relicts is now known as RetroBase !
Thanks to Chris for the warning.
  • Tuesday - 18/07/2000

  • A good dump of Triple Play '96 surfaced at Genesis Power ! (only 20 to 200)

  • Newest GBC release is the italian version (official translation) of Pokémon Yellow, as seen at SubPort... try your luck with some GBC rom sites to see if you catch that Pikachu...

  • "Goby, the first gameboy emulator for the EPOC platform has been released by BacklitGames. It runs at near full speed on all psion palmtops over 36MHz (an impressive achievement) and can play most original gameboy games though not colour yet. The emulator will continue to be developed over the coming months improving both the compatability and speed.
    Downloadable from http://www.backlitgames.com."

That's the email I received from BacklitGames, and you'll also see this tidbit somewhere else. I know.
  • Monday - 17/07/2000

  • J00 got the point ??? ROM site maintainers... feel free to email me whenever you do significative updates on your ROM site.

  • Announcements for some ROM site updates are also a part of the G1Mm3 R0mZ odyssey. Like this one... mentioning that TopGear 2 is the latest goodie available at Genesis Power !

  • 35 new roms, 32 Genesis, 3 SNES. NEStalgia, baby.
  • Sunday - 16/07/2000

  • This should be posted yesterday but... new game of the week at the SEGA RomHouse.

  • Happy 2nd birthday to Emum@nia !

  • Should've known this earlier... should've bookmarked the new Home of the Underdogs earlier...
Thanks to Dave Ewing for the reminder.

  • BOMB BOMB 76 new games added to ZX !!!

  • As stated by Recoil yesterday on IRC... a new SNES rom release happened today at CherryRoms ! Be sure to check out the new ROTF.

  • 42 new SNES roms added at NEStalgia.

  • 20 new Assassins, 69 new games. ALE !

  • Genesis Power updated with release #178: Tick.
  • Saturday - 15/07/2000

  • Two new GBC releases today, as seen at SubPort: Yu-Gi-Oh! - Dark Duel Stories III and Towers - Lord Baniff's Deceit. Go look for GBC sites at the G1Mm3 R0mZ page because those releases may be available already...
    Reminder: SubPort has no r0mZ.

  • "Artist description: Most of the members are in prison throughout the country. No, really. This project was formed via a prison pen pal network. They recorded the words and then I (fubuki) put music behind them. Sometimes it fits and sometimes it doesn't."
Yes, I know I stole someone else's words when talking about this thing called the AfterBirth Stew Syndicate.

  • Ten (10) ADF images were added to ALE's collection... g1mm3 4m1g4 r0mZ !

  • Genesis Power updated with release #177: Star Trek Deep Space 9.

  • Thanks to everyone who mentioned that this poor site moved... :)

  • Star Cube ? It's just Dolphin's new name, nothing to do with the Time Cube...

  • Here's a MEKA "easter egg" (?)... my recipe:
    - Open MEKA and choose a game you simply love and want to play every single part of it.
    - Play, play and... play, until you're about to finish the aforementioned game.
    - When that happens, SAVE YOUR GAME for security reasons... and hit CTRL+N.
    - Enjoy the magic :)
Thanks to something unusual I made when playing World Cup '90 aka Super Futebol 2 for the secret.
  • Friday - 14/07/2000

  • And my G1Mm3 R0mZ movement started. It's still very incomplete but it's something. I hope it becomes useful.

  • Now I have a more reliable host. I changed hosts again because the other one (200.252.40.139/end) was down way too much :( And the responsible for putting END there (it wasn't demolition, it was a friend of him) is no longer responsible for that server... so it's time to move again eh ? Bookmark our new URL... http://kinox.org/end
  • Thursday - 13/07/2000

  • Email me links to every single ROM site you can find.
Two things I intend to do with those ROM links you'll surely email me:
    - Try to maintain a nice ROM links page.
    - Try to post 'webcopyROMnews' when possible.

  • Email me links to every single ROM site you can find. Hey, I'm serious. Thankee.

  • MEKA has been updated again ! Kickass emulators should always be mentioned here.
  • Sunday - 09/07/2000

  • JAPAN owns you !!! (and me, and Sardius too)

  • Shitty weekend, shitty installer.
  • Friday - 07/07/2000

  • A lot of birthdays coming this month, eh ? This time it's Kinox, who turns 1 year old !

  • Found an interesting glitch in a game ? Send it to The GlitchMan (aka David Wonn) !
Thanks to tanooki for the unique, previously unknown glitches.
  • Thursday - 06/07/2000

  • The 2nd late happy birthday wish in 4 days... this one's to Eidolon's Inn !
    (WebCopyNews courtesy of: Kinox !)
  • Sunday - 02/07/2000

  • After taking a look at some site's messageboard, I hope somebody's father-in-law fucking dies. **UPDATE: this same "somebody" mentioned truly has absolutely NO life, judging by a "(...) It's Wednesday morning and there is no news posted" I just saw.

  • Oh my, more webcopynews from the same source listed below today...

  • JL-Picard's got a massive update today, after a short hiatus.

  • A late happy birthday goes out to RockNES... :P

  • Cloy is back and now his website can also be reached here.

  • Webcopynews to the max (you probably saw that one too): "I just discovered a nice emulator of the Sinclair QL that runs on Unix/X and similar systems called UQLX! (...)"
  • Saturday - 01/07/2000

  • And now, back to the "aqua" table bgcolor specifications.

  • This can't be happening. Goodbye, Mr. Wilson... :(
Thanks to RK for the kleenex.

  • LOL.
Thanks to Dave Ewing for the contribution to the improvement of this site.

  • Well well, an old plan worked out the way it was supposed to, one more yankeeballslicker revealed.
You still readin' this ? Go play some guitar, go.
  • Friday - 30/06/2000

  • "REIROM-ish rant"
Some IRC logs will be useful in the future... just to show a little bit of truth about who/what some emumans really are. Some are lurchers, some bughouse, and one in special turned out to be a genuine YANKEEBALLSLICKER !
Reminder: there are three kinds of truth: mine, yours, and THE truth.
  • Thursday - 29/06/2000

  • I guess it's time for an emulator review, and I'll review VGB 1.7, in comparison with is previous version (which happens to be VGB 1.6). VGB 1.7 is a bit faster than 1.6 on my machine. I noticed no other significant changes. Still not worth a buck. Still waiting for Pokémon Gold/Silver in english. Still think I should thank Philip Reuben anyway.
Megumi Saito. Megumi Saito. Megumi Saito. Megumi Saito.

  • Giving credit to Mr. Nobody No-One-Really for emulation news tidbits is becoming quite a ritual on some previously respectable "webcopyemunews" sites.
    My boycott list becomes bigger.
  • Wednesday - 28/06/2000

  • GENS was updated again. RuMSX too.
  • Sunday - 25/06/2000

  • Lars Ulrich is fucking gay. I'm sure he and his stupid actions are the inspirations for this silly idea.

  • GBC dev centers can be a lot of fun... :)
Thanks to TuxedoMsk for the Fantasy Zone clone.

  • Sometimes I like giving titles to "pieces of news". Not this time, though. Go check out another Top20 list which is a little bit different than the others you usually see out there.
  • Friday - 23/06/2000

  • "Everything Dies" (Maybe 1 Month Left)
...even emulation. It's slowly dying, I guess. Wish it had more surprising things... like this non-emulation related one.
Thanks to rde for the pizza.
  • Wednesday - 21/06/2000

  • "Powerless"
My computer's power source screwed up this monday and a new one was set up today. In the meantime, I was using a shitty (or even more shitty) computer, until both of its HDs screwed up (bad, bad blocks, and lots of them). Something interesting I found on that computer is this link, which is for the very first Fortunecity account demolition opened... so we could fill it with r0mZ !
    Ah, the memories...
  • Monday - 19/06/2000

  • "The Morning After"
Even though my team won the local soccer championship, my sunday was a bit shitty. Fortunately two things kinda cheered me up: one I won't tell. The other one is the release of RockNES 1.080 (which Fx3 just warned me about).
  • Tuesday - 13/06/2000

  • Ask him anything. ANYTHING. Don't be shy.

  • Oh well, go!go! day is gone... oh well... ROCMANx for everyone ! YAY !!@!*&#$*!&%
    (Roll-Chan would be proud.)
  • Friday - 16/06/2000

  • Go Sardius go ! Keep on posting those lovely NEZ romz :D And, obviously, the NEZ-related link of the day is Panesian Press. Thanks to MickoZ for that one.

  • Go GENS go ! 0.73 is out today, and since 0.70 I've been using this emulator a lot.
  • Thursday - 15/06/2000

  • I'm a stupid pokémaniac.
The jap-eng translation for Pokémon Gold, done by PR Translations, was updated again.
    Enjoy it now.

  • Yeah yeah yeah, Gens was updated again some time ago. And it rules. I think it's now my Genesis emulator of choice. It runs even ISSD very well. And even displays some garbage when loading Virtua Racing.
    Enjoy it now.
  • Tuesday - 13/06/2000

  • A nice article written by Viper_Z, talking about SNK's "drop dead", was posted at EmuCity. I think it's an interesting read, and I suggest that you use BabelFish because the article (as well as the whole site) is in portuguese.
  • Monday - 12/06/2000

  • "New versions of RockNES (1.070) and BNSF (1.1) are avaliable." -- Fx3
    (WebCopyNews courtesy of: EmuSphere !)

  • Sweet... there's a web-based Napster-compatible client in PHP right here... must... pirate... Metallica... songs... but not their new album !
(this new Merdallica album crap is all fake, if you haven't noticed that.)

  • Looking for those new GBC releases listed at SubPort ? Try this page !

  • A friend of mine which doesn't have a nickname and wishes to remain anonymous (hi there E.!) emailed me this link: Atari 2600 Nexus, which is a site that features lots of Atari 2600 material, and even has some rare roms !
    Enjoy it now !
  • Sunday - 11/06/2000

  • Herro radies !
I'm not dead yet. And don't expect seeing emulation-only news here, because... err... it gets boring, you know.
    (WebCopyNews courtesy of: END !)
