  • the more i stay away from updating, the more the news i miss. pretty logical, eh ?
    - (newest news piece of the bunch) as seen on emuhq right now, rocknes 1.05 is out !!!
    - gem 0.31 is out, more games are working now... must try this one before i die. on with the gameboy emulation news, we also have dboy 0.57 (no comments needed on that one :).
    - even more dumps/redumps at both sms power and genesis power. seeeeeeeeeegaaaaaaaaaaaaaa ! umm, that new genesis stuff may or may not (that depends on you) be used with gens 0.36 and/or with generator32 0.13a. oh, and it looks like the next version of generator32 will feature sound emulation !
    - while everyone discusses about dreamcast emulation and its impact on a supposed emulation scene, there's this site which i think is good for a laugh. thanks to heidern for the link.
    - the lovely kof91 was updated. the new version (1.1) only includes the executables so you must have 1.0 already if you want it to work. (lack of creativity made me paste that text almost exactly as seen at its official website)
    - for you windows users out there (myself included), media player 7 is out. go leech or something. thanks to boba fett for the link.
    and sorry for not mentioning where the news came from. and... want a freebie ? right on.

  • more news i missed...
    - at least two updates of sneese;
    - another update of another nes emulator, which is dreamnes;
    - very small update to emudx;
    - a new, better version of nemu64 (i heard that my favorite n64 title now works partially);
    - ages 0.17c, even without 32x emulation for now, is out as expected (and genesis power released yet another title for you to enjoy with this new emulator);
    - mame-related stuff... mess .36rc2 and mame32 .36 final (and will the mame team congratulate michael schumacher again on the whatsnew.txt of mame .37 beta 1 ? :);
    - slight "perfection competition" between x68k emulators such as anex86 2.14 and ex68k 1.09;
    - and an anniversary release of no$msx, available at the mep.

  • "everything you want to know about bios"... well, at least for pc bios, the site name says it all :) thanks to mgandhi for the link.

  • a leaked secret ? i don't know if it works... i'm unable to test that formula ! sorry. thanks to rde for the link.

  • <Zzzzzzzzz> here's some information the #xxxxxxxx ops don't want you to know... ftp://127.0.0.1/utp-cash.zip for the windows version of no$gmb v2.4 CRACKED ! yes, that's right, it's the famous utopia crack mentioned at http://www.work.de/nocash/gmb.htm that the author is so angry about. it's the file the #xxxxxxxx ops ban for mentioning !
    (as seen on irc... now i know why no$gmb was put to rest.)

  • . thu 23 mar 2000 .

  • genesis power released some games featuring dolphins... no relation to nintendo.
    (news shamelessly and directly copied from retrogames !)

  • scent-enabled movies and games may become a reality ? well, that's a thing i just read about right here.

  • 'utopia' is mainly the reason for an almost certain death of the great no$gmb :(
    (news tidbit seen earlier at emu happenings !)

  • heh, another 'emunews' site hits my boycotted list. reason: stupidity. a few minutes after writing that first phrase on this post, i saw that such stupidity seen at that site (and probably on other sites) killed a very nice emulator named 'rape?', which stands (or standed) for 'rather a pokemon emulator?'. the emulator's name was only a funny joke but some less open-minded ppl (i could also use a hundred of bad words to describe those ppl) misunderstood completely what the name stood for... and caused that emulator's death. i can only hope that judge changes his mind about his decision, but maybe it's too late :(
    (i read about rape?'s death at emucity, but all the other comments are mine. and, before you ask, emucity isn't the recently boycotted site i was talking about.)

  • i think there's some error(s) on the latest mame source, but you can go to either sys2064 or arcade rom heaven to see how to correct those errors.

  • a demo of a new gbc emulator called vgbc is out. don't confuse vgbc with vgb.
    (i kinda copied and pasted this after seeing it at emuunlim !)

  • two new emulators are out today, and i dunno what's new in those releases, but here they are... sneese 0.43 and little john 0.21.
    (this was previously brought to you by both emulatronia and emumania !)

  • apparently anton is a huge iron maiden fan, and he even re-did some iron maiden songs but in a 'wesley-willis-esque' style. in a word: HILARIOUS. thanks to rde for the link.

  • . wed 22 mar 2000 .

  • gens 0.34 is out and it's faster than before. i'd call this the 'new core version'.
    (i kinda copied and pasted this after seeing it at emulatronia !)

  • ex68 1.08 is out. somebody prease tlansrate the documentation, it's in japanese.
    (news shamelessly and directly copied from vgn !)

  • that's a moment many many many ppl were waiting for... the release of mame 0.36 final !!! (after a long beta cycle...)
    (this was previously brought to you by emuviews !)

  • heh... rape again !
    (news tidbit seen earlier at kinox !)

  • i didn't know that there were msx emulators available for the n64, but there's one (which i still don't know the name for it) available at n64 scener. wish i had a n64, or at least a working n64 emulator supporting shitty non-3d video boards.
    (i stole this piece of news from daily emunews !)

  • american gladiators is the latest release at genesis power. leech while it's hot.
    (news tidbit seen earlier at retrogames !)

  • . tue 21 mar 2000 .

  • and speaking of sms, meka 0.51 is out, although its official website hasn't been updated yet... but you can grab it at overclocked ! *hint*
    (news shamelessly and directly copied from retrogames !)
    (and yes, i also posted this (and earlier than here) at emuverse.)

  • sms power isn't dead and to prove that they released some new stuff including the lovely streets of rage.
    (news tidbit seen earlier at emucity !)

  • bugfix part ii, starring rocknes.
    (this was previously brought to you by kinox !)

  • . sun 19 mar 2000 .

  • scary...
    (i kinda copied and pasted this after seeing it at emu happenings !)

  • i was about visiting the rocknes website and found out about a new version (1.041)... bugfix time i guess.

  • hell awaits !

  • you humans are so creative sometimes. one of you even invented 'pokémon baseball' which is played using those pokémon trading cards... visit this site and see how to play. original idea, indeed, even though most of you may hate pikachu and his buddies.

  • don't you love pinball games ?

  • ah, back from two shitty parties. haven't tried napamp yet. saw that both famtasia 5.1 final beta and rocknes 1.04 (new 6502 core !) were released. and this time the 'non-nes emu released' is hu-go! 1.12.
    (this was previously brought to you by both emulatronia and retrogames !)

  • . sat 18 mar 2000 .

  • later on i'll give napamp a try... it's a winamp plugin that allows you to connect to napster servers and leech your wanted stuff right away. thanks to sui for the link.
    ** update: the link to get napamp was replaced with a link to its official website.

  • apparently a new version of rew is out. people such as me, who can't read japanese, are surely wondering what's new. and pr translation updated their pokémon gold jap/eng translation patch yet again. which reminds me that i haven't tried any pokémon games yet using rew...
    (news tidbit seen earlier at both emucity and kinox !)

  • the truth ? honestly i have no idea. about neogeo dumps... i can only say that the romlist/neocharity times were fun, but they're gone now. (several sites posted that link so why can't we ?)
    ... and i finally downloaded garou:motw from romseeker.

  • more news on nes emulators: dreamnes, as well as its rom encyclopedia, was updated. on a non-nes related area we also have an update coming from maechiko... gbfan plus 1.17-3 is out.
    (this was previously brought to you by retrogames and emulatronia !)

  • while an emulator is discontinued, another different one is born. that's life.
    (news tidbit seen earlier at both retrogames and emusphere !)

  • this news piece's subject is nes emulators (again), mentioning that yet another beta of nesten is out !!! :)

  • 3 days, 3 mentions in big, respectable sites. all i can say is thank you :) and i feel kinda stupid for not posting earlier that both emuchrist and emu happenings returned (also).
    ** update: this site got mentioned in another big, respectable site today.

  • . fri 17 mar 2000 .

  • i think i'll be boycotting some "emulation news" websites because i'm really tired of seeing exactly the same news on them. oh, and genesis power's latest release is aerobiz supersonic.

  • st0rm has been rewritten by a different author, and under djgpp and nasm. it's great to see that this genesis emulator was resumed !
    (i kinda copied and pasted this after seeing it at kinox !)

  • there's a search engine a la napster (but more complete) called imesh that became really popular after being mentioned in retrogames. i haven't seen it yet but looks good. hope it isn't unstable like napster...

  • <Dead_Body> rocknes is the new nesticle...but slower
    as you can see, i'm not the only one who's really enjoying rocknes...

  • they intend on re-touching enduro... cross your fingers, snap your neck.

  • do take some time to visit emucult.

  • there's actually an ass manual online. another proof that you can find everything (i mean everything !) on the 'net. remember the story of that 60-something lady with a dead husband on the freezer ? that's another proof.

  • if you like iron maiden you certainly heard that their rumors that their new album will be called "majesty of gaia". well, forget about those rumors and read a little bit of reality right here. speaking of new albums... pantera's "reinventing the steel" is fuckin' great ! i know it wasn't officially released yet but... there will always be mp3s, you know... (but buy it if you can because it's good)

  • . thu 16 mar 2000 .

  • ...thanks, till.

  • yet another new (new to me, at least) nes emulator surfaced, it's called javanese and of course it's coded in java... for those who are interested it's available at emulatronia.

  • it was a really cool move by ubi soft, letting a group called power3d legally translate one of its games (hyper volleyball) to french and post the rom on the 'net legally (i guess).
    (this was previously brought to you by vgn !)

  • . wed 15 mar 2000 .

  • i think i'll restart posting a few emu news here and there... such as the releases of mskiss 0.2.4 and mess .36rc1. i don't know... wish i could find something different to bring you. just like emuverse did by letting the public post news (2 thumbs up for dave ewing ! i'm sure his idea will be shamelessly copied in the near future)... oh, and the new rew available for download at many, many places is a public release after all, thanks to prophet for helping on clearing things up. btw, i was visiting sites i always visit once a day and saw at emucity that meka 0.50 is out for registered users. and for registered users only, not for poor "fariseus" such as me. and according to the whatsnew.txt, master system perfect compatibility rate is now of 98.90% !!! and 5 minutes later i read about the release of gens 0.3 at emuunlim. the news posts may be kind of incorrect sometimes, but that's the way i do it almost all the time since 2 years and 1 day ago.

  • ha ha. it seems some male people have this thing. i don't.

  • sites that keep doing their work (unlike this one): genesis power, badge's lighthouse, overc(l)ocked, and others i've probably forgotten. i'm sorry.

  • new nes emulators are surfacing all the time... i don't know much about all of them but i'm sure they're all good ones... although my favorites now became both nesten and rocknesX. those are win32 based emulators but their performance is excellent even though win9x sucks.

  • ask kaervek about garou. and matridx can do killer combos. ooh.

  • 'band of the month' was left behind on purpose yesterday. and no, i won't put wesley willis as a band/artist of the month because he is the artist of the millenium.

  • >> band of the month... human remains

    . tue 14 mar 2000 .

  • happy birthday, END. i dunno why i haven't killed you yet. i'm having some problems that are making me unable to update you the way i wish i could... but i see you're still alive even though i don't take care of you anymore... and you still get about 300-350 hits a day ! it's a very nice proof that, even "asleep", you have faithful readers and maybe even new visitors who enjoy at least looking at you... not because of the crappy design, maybe it's because of the content... too bad your caretaker (the one who's writing this) is slow, lazy, and has lots of problems sometimes... but at least you're alive. and you're one of the reasons who keep him (me) alive as well.
    good night, END... hope you enjoy your birthday, and know that you haven't been ENDed yet !
