  • 1999's most shocking release was UltraHLE of course... will 2000's be Impact ? (yeah, it's out) Only time will tell.

  • Yesterday was a Saturday and the "don't remember" in the date was just a consequence of the Y2K bug in my brain. As a few of you know, I'm not a human. And I also have a lot of bugs just like you all do.

    (don't remember), January 1st, 2000

  • Speaking of changes, there's a huge layout (and name) change at CyberGrounds Gen2k !

  • Constant forward-URL changing... that happens. Since tsx.org is acting way too shitty these days I decided to grab yet another forwarding URL which is http://end.somewhere.net

  • There's another "Fine Nine of Ninety-Nine" around... and it's located here... and Talez (who created it) totally disagrees with lilac, I guess.

  • Err, I think the next millenium begins in 2001. Have a nice day.

The Y2K bug is coming but I guess I'm prepared... happy new year !!!

  • There's also a happy new year gift from the MAME team :)

  • THE REAL Office2000 ! No hoax ! Y2K compliant ! Thanks to our very own demolition for the link.

  • Someone noticed that our xmas gift (thankyou Wesley !) was a bit... weak :D So... that same person decided to give us another xmas gift... which is now a "Happy Y2K to you all !" gift: a few (heh) Atari2600 ROMs... all leechable from our ROMs Area. Kudos go to seventh and A.B.E.M. (feel free to guess what that means, because I'm not telling you).

  • Enough of this "newsbox wars" already... I decided to add both EmuCamp and EmuSphere's at the bottom of the main page (which is this one you're looking at).

  • ... and the "This Page Has Really Stupid And Disappointing Content" award goes to www.pikachu.com.

  • I'm glad this page reached at least 666,666 visitors before Y2K :) And according to our poll's current results, Callus is everyone's favorite arcade emulator (not including MAME and NeoRAGEx) and I guess I forgot to include emulators such as Sparcade and EmuDX.

  • "Even More Roms"... starring the argentinian JL-Picard of DNGRS.

  • There are also a few new NES roms at The Sardius Experience.

  • Polling Down updated (FINALLY !). Please go vote !

  • Ah, the hypers.
No new roms for you, try Genesis Power for a few good Genesis ones... or SMS Power for SMS stuff... or those Amiga sites which I don't know the URL by heart.
Umm... MAME was updated yet again... 0.37 won't come ! And speaking of updates... there's one that everyone's been waiting for... the only emulator worth buying was updated. A beta version was put online before the final version comes out.
Commercial emulators... will HiVE be also commercial ? Probably, but we still don't know which company... "purchased" it.
Surprises ? You may expect one from RS... and remember that EmuSphere will be returning soon. By the way, MGandhi has returned... well, sort of. I hope Sega Emulation World returns too, I kinda miss that site and I know I'm not the only one who feels that way.

  • If you registered MEKA, version 0.31 is out. If you didn't register, skip this news tidbit for now. (source: Zoop)

  • Which one would you yell "I choose you !!!" at ? OverClocked, OverCocked or this ? (*** update: speaking of OverCocked... happy 2nd birthday EmuCult !)

  • I don't enjoy posting "previously seen" news here, so I'll just post this one... Super Mario World for the NES is now available at our ROMs Area, thanks to an innocent bystander :) And a little note for some lamers out there: shut up already, we haven't released anything this time.

  • MAME 0.36 beta 11 is out and available at VGN... now go fetch those Pole Position 1 and 2 roms, in case you don't have them already. (update: if you can't access VGN try SYS2064)

  • Visit The Mahir Portal just to see how popular Mahir became... because of the "I KISS YOU", maybe.

  • H4w. December already ? Good... another year about to end... and I'm still updating on a weekly basis. That's not good.
    - MegaMan X2 (the US version) has been dumped correctly and released by Vertigo2099/DarkForce... other releases from Vertigo2099 include VT-NES #65 and #66 which are already online and downloadable from our ROMs Area.
    - CBT released a very partial translation patch (japanese/portuguese) for Pokémon Gold. It's a very partial patch but it's a beginning anyway, and things only tend to get better.
    - Raine v0.27ezel: "Irritiations". That's the latest Raine release... I only missed 0.27b then.
    - Even though I can't catch up with SMS Power anymore, Zoop keeps releasing new stuff... daily ! Genesis Power doesn't do daily releases, but the latest ones they did are surely worth a look.
    - And EmuChrist returned.

  • And if you still haven't heard about a turkish guy named Mahir Cagri, you probably don't pay attention to some links :D Do read this interview. Thanks to scienide for the link.

  • One update per week. Heh. Now my exams are over but I'm still the same lazy mp3 leecher. News ?
    - The "beta 10s" of MESS and MAME32.
    - ROMList's 2nd birthday and the great release of Football Champ (what a goal !), which is already playable on the early Raine 0.27a, released yesterday.
    - Bugfix time for Bleem!.
    - Another emulator for you to play Pokémon with... DBoy 0.55a. By the way, our ROMs Area still carries the Silver and Gold versions...
    - A new useful SNES tool called inSNESt, 2 new releases of ZSNES and a massive amount of SNES rom releases by Madoka ROMance.
    - The Gathering is cool. Long live Anneke van Giersbergen.

  • Rock over London, rock on Chicago
VisualBoy 1.2 - Now with joystick support !
(this line isn't Wesley-Willis-esque, but... source: EmuCity)

  • SID is now emulated on the Win32 port of ComeBack64 ! (source: RetroGames)

  • SMS Power released 'two sides' today: Double Dragon (GameGear) which rules, and Chapolin vs Dracula (SMS) which sucks even more than the original Ghost House (if that's possible).

  • WOOM! 0.2 beta is out and I think it now features sound emulation as well. (source: EmuMania)

  • I kinda ressurrected the ROMs Area of this site by putting some random Genesis and SNES roms... and I dunno when I'll update that section. But it's alive anyway.

  • Wow, 5 old new games at Genesis Power... highlights on Last Battle :)

  • Two more GBC releases (surely the most wanted among the latest ones): Pokémon Gold and Pokémon Silver. Remember that both games are in japanese and english versions of them still don't exist ! Thanks to Thumper for the files.
And if you need the fixes for those games, visit SubPort.

  • Here's one of the latest GBC releases: Tonka Raceway. Thanks to Achilles for the file. (*update: and thanks to Ego_UK for correcting me about this game's name)

  • Bad news, unfortunately SitC is dead again :(

  • Yet another beta of MAME is out (this time the "early Atari beta"), and no, I'm not tired of MAME updates... in fact I get really happy when they happen :) Thanks to Demoniak for the news.

  • Yay, I'm updating even less than I already do. New releases are MESS 0.36 beta 9.1 and DBoy 0.54. And EmuDX 1.0 beta 2, too. (sources: RetroGames and VGN)

  • Whee, finally we're seeing a NeoGeo Pocket (and NG Pocket Color too) emulator ! Too bad it's shareware, so I guess it'll have the same destiny as VGB. (source: RetroGames)

  • A SG1000 game called Star Jacker is the latest release at SMS Power.

  • Thanks to Malzinhow we have a new server to put some roms again. I hope I can upload anything interesting (such as those Wesley Willis songs).

  • ZSNES 0.985 is out and thanks to BobaFett for the news (less than 1 minute after I received this warning MickoZ was already posting that again on irc). The whatsnew.txt is pretty huge...

  • Gee, what a wasted holiday. Not for the emulation front, of course. SMS Power and Genesis Power are maintaining their kickass work of dumping/redumping great stuff (I guess I should be thankful), and even ROMList showed up this time by dumping a game that was hidden in Raine.
And the emu and misc. releases, mainly the unique DecROM v1.2, are also great. Not only MAME v0.36 beta 9.1, which fixes some bugs in those Midway games (such as MK1)(and pMAME and aMAME were updated as well), came out, but there's also a new release of the good old PCAE !!!
    Enough overhyping for you ?

  • - Minor speed improvements;
    - Corrected bug in Emulation Logic (FF8 and others);
    - Error messages for unsupported Direct3D 24-/32-bit modes.
This is some kind of whatsnew.txt for bleem! 1.5a. (source: VGN)

  • The first "name that game" was a great idea, even though I never heard of Spiritual Warfare before :) ... and why am I still talking about this one when Hellfire is the latest release ?

  • Believe ? Sardu hasn't returned (he may still be at EA) so I still have my doubts. Something enjoyable from Bloodlust in the future is Noggin' Knockers 3: The Horde for the GameBoy Color...
Excessive hype really sucks hard. I should remind myself to lower ZD's rating on the next update (heh) on the Links Section.

  • RAINE SHOOT SCORE GOAL !

  • Hmm, some things need to be removed from this site. Speaking of sites, this one is becoming kinda popular... long live some guy named Mahir (as long as he doesn't kiss me only because I visited his page).

  • It's hard being sick and unable to concentrate on anything... the only thing I'm able to do now is mp3 leeching... well, other than the 3 places that usually release something new almost every day (SMS Power, Genesis Power and Madoka) there's Amiga Memory for you Amiga fans out there.
Another thing that is happening daily is a new OverClocked comic which is damn funny :p

  • WOOM, one of the newest MSX emulators around, is progressing... a proof is that it added sound emulation. Follow that link and go check the WIP section.

  • This should be a guide about how NOT to name your band. Thanks to mp` for the link.

  • I know I missed a lot of things during this non-updateful weekend (and what a shitty weekend, at least for me (no, I wasn't talking about emulation when I said that)). Among those things I missed are the usual but nice rom releases, updated emulators (MAME, RockNES, MESS and even GalEMU !), and two things you don't see everyday: first, FudeBrowser (nice name... FudebaBrowser wouldn't sound good), which is a browser for the SG1000, and it also converts regular HTML into a SG1000 ROM (although it's pretty limited)... and there's also DecRom , a NES tool which 'dumps' the VROM of a NES game into ASCII code, which can be viewed on any text editors. And also a bad thing: we no longer can count on that server to put the weekly roms on, so that section will die yet again.
