Hello everyone,

Recently our network/host, Parodius, has run into some server problems.  I won't get into all details, but to make a short story: Parodius used to have access to a free resource, we lost that resource and we now relocated the server and we are limited in bandwidth and the server is not free anymore...

So why are you here?  Probably because you are trying to access one of the "sub-website" of Kinox and this website has been suspended.  The reason is not because this website is not good or has done something bad, but that we don't have access to the free resource we had before and we can't afford to give the service to as much people as before.  Especially when those people did not get access from Parodius itself, but from some Kinox people, and that was not done 100% with the OK from Parodius owner.

What to do, I can't access my favorite website?

If the website has been suspended, we are sorry for you and the owner.  However, there is a big chance that the websit has/is/will be relocated elsewhere... if so I ask the owner of the website to give me the url and I will gladly setup a webpage in their old kinox.org/subpath/ explaining the situation and giving the new URL.

If you are interested to host that sub-website, you can also contact us and we will do the best to get you and the website owner in contact.

What to do, I can't update my website?  have I lost my account/service?

Well, I am sorry to tell you this, but chance are that you have lost the "hosting" service... the reason is not because your website is not good or does not meet your criteria, but we just do not have the resource to host you anymore (unless you buy us a fast server, hehe...)

What is best to do right now, is either to contact us to give us your new url or what not or update... but we can't say to you, ok we host you...  the final decision come to Jeremy and he has to do it with his available resource (which are now pretty limited compared to before) and not with his heart unfortunately...

It is sad because Parodius is a big family and I know that some people hosted here were proud to be a part of Parodius/Kinox family... you may still be a part of it, but it might be different... At Parodius, we have a policy of if it is your hobby, then it is great, however we have to limit (temporary I hope) the hobby of some of us here... I was glad that we could offer to you those service and I am sad that we have to terminate it right now...

UPDATES

I can manually setup for you guys, some redirector, ie kinox.org/yoursitename will go to whetever url you have as a new url... seem like it is the best I can do for most of you...

If you want a backup of your website files, your database (for those who used newspro and stuff), you cgi-bin files, etc.  Get first in contact with MickoZ, he will sort the directory you want, then I will try work on something so you get your backup in hand.

If you think you still deserve hosting at Kinox... we can discuss about it in the meantime, but there is a big chance that you will get a no... FOR NOW the easyest solution for us is to suspend all website... and to deal with them as the time come... but NOTHING is deleted, they have just moved of place and everything is still available... I will keep them for at less some months ;-)

I am noticing that some pretty good site was there that I was not even really aware of...

That lead me to a thought... I wonder if people (if they could, because not everyone can) would pay for that service, and I am not talking only to the owner of the website... but also to the users of our service... we see people pay for business website news and stuff, personally I don't see people pay, let's say at "personal donation", I wonder how much people give to the emulator author that ask for donation, if there is people that do it and how much... just how far people appreciate the works of other?

But in other hand I see a few people that would pay to get a solid version of an let's say an emulation magazine (like Nintendo Power)  that would be pretty cool IMHO, but how will it be covered... how professional will it be... who will do that?  Interesting?  A dream yeah? ... that is all I had to say...
